A free people ought not only be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them. which would include their own Government.

  Purple Heart Day is observed annually on August 7th to honor and remember the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who have been wounded or killed in action. It's a day to recognize the sacrifices made by Purple Heart recipients and to show support for wounded veterans.
